Red Ridge Tail Winery is situated on a 52 acre vineyard, on the beautiful western shore of Seneca Lake, in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York.

Nancy is the winemaker and partner with husband, Michael Schnelle, at Red Tail Ridge. She has been in the wine industry for over 35 years. Her career path includes a decade at E&J Gallo as VP of Viticulture & Enology R&D, a PhD in grape genetics in the UC-Davis Viticulture and Enology Depart, along with various consulting gigs.
After years of large volume production and mass appeal, Red Tail Ridge is a personal journey of introspection for Nancy, as she focuses on how to best represent the unique personality and terroir of her vineyard.
Each wine is a tiny time capsule of typicity that reflects a moment in the life-history of our little property. Red Tail Ridge’s energy-efficient and sustainable design made it the first winery in New York to receive the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED-certification.

WINE DISCUSSION: Start: 6:00 p.m. (before each Tasting) - Non-Seated Event | Wine Vendors | Chef's Choice Light Hors D'oeuvres. Open to all Wine Society Members. Wine Society members may invite guests (space permitting).
WINE TASTING: Start: 6:45 p.m. (after Wine Discussion) - Non-Seated Event | Wine Vendors | Chef's Choice Light Hors D'oeuvres. Open to all Wine Society Members. Wine Society members may invite guests (space permitting). Non-Wine Society City Club members may buy attendance to Tasting events for themselves and guests at $85++ per person, space permitting for event.
Cancellation of Reservations for Guests and Non-Wine Society Members must be made 2 days before event to avoid charge for event to member.

The 2023-2024 season features four (4) Tasting receptions (Wine Discussion before each Tasting) and four (4) seated multi-course Dinners including a Black-Tie Gala.

Please note: To make dining room or club event reservations, you must be a Member of the City Club or be accompanied by a Member.
The Club’s Dress Code for members and their guests is Business Attire. During the evenings, gentlemen are required to wear a jacket in the Club’s dining areas (excluding bar area of Grill) and encouraged to wear a jacket in all other areas. The only permitted exceptions are when a different dress code is specified by Club management in connection with a scheduled Club event.
